Rules and responsibilities for using our community website

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at glenridgecommunity.com (the "Site"), operated by Glenridge Community HOA ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Eligibility

The members-only areas of the Site are intended for residents (and approved guests) of the Glenridge Community in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Account approval is at the discretion of HOA administrators. You must be 18 years of age or older to register.

2. Accounts & Security

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notify us immediately at admin@glenridgecommunity.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion, including for violations of these Terms or community rules.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate others.
  • Post content that is obscene, hateful, or discriminatory.
  • Upload viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt the Site.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other accounts, or supporting infrastructure.
  • Scrape, harvest, or otherwise collect resident information from the directory for purposes outside the community (including marketing, solicitation, or resale).
  • Use automated tools to send messages, register accounts, or interact with the Site.
  • Misrepresent your identity, address, or relationship to the community.

4. Resident Directory

The resident directory is provided as a community convenience. Information shared there is visible to other approved residents. You agree to use directory information only for personal, neighborly, and community purposes — never for commercial solicitation, mass mailing, or political campaigning.

5. User-Submitted Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., directory photos, event RSVPs, comments). By submitting content, you grant the HOA a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content within the Site for the purpose of operating community services. You represent that you have the right to share any content you submit.

6. Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive transactional emails (account approvals, password resets, RSVP confirmations, security notices). Optional newsletters and SMS notifications are sent only with your opt-in consent and can be disabled at any time.

7. Pool, Gate, & Mobile Credentials

If you receive a pool/gate access credential (RFID card, NFC, mobile pass), you agree to use it only for your household members and approved guests. Sharing credentials with non-residents, or any attempt to circumvent access controls, is grounds for revocation and may violate HOA rules.

8. Third-Party Services

The Site integrates with third-party services such as Google Sign-In, Facebook Login, Google Maps, and Twilio. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Intellectual Property

All Site content, branding, and code (other than user-submitted content) are owned by the HOA or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute Site content without permission.

10. Disclaimers

The Site and its services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the HOA, its board, volunteers, and administrators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Site, including loss of data, lost opportunities, or property damage. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the HOA, its board, volunteers, and administrators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any rights of another.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use members-only areas ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Forsyth County, North Carolina.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent changes. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
